Yeah, except have you looked at the merc? It's hideous.
The T6 does look like a T5 and in this day and age it's a little plain, but at least it's not trying too hard.
What I'd love to see is the 4 motion offered with the option of the Amarok's 8 speed auto, complete with it's low gearing, to make for a far more capable off-road package from the factory.

I had a chat to my dealer last week, apparently VW's engineers have come out and said that they are unable to improve much on the T5 design (hence T5GP and T6) as it is pretty much as good a design as they can get. Other than drivetrain and some consumer electronics upgrades along the way. Its really only customer experience improvements otherwise.
The shape apparently is ideal and the space is optimised, 70% of the T6 has new panels, though that would be hard to pick. Multivan for instance, the rear seat can now slide without having to be folded down! Big improvement if you ask anybody who owns(owned) as pre T6 Multivan.Current: 2023 MY23 T-Roc R Lapiz Blue + Beats Audio + Black pack 2018 MY19 Golf R manual Lapiz Blue + DAP) 2018 MY18 Golf 110TSI (150TSI) Trendline manual White2014 Amarok TSI Red (tuned over 200kw + lots of extras) 2013 Up! manual Red 2017 Polo GTI manual Black Previous VWs and some others ...

I've had an opportunity to drive a new Vito for a day and I prefer the T6. My advice to anyone who think about the Vito or MB commercial vehicle. Just check the built quality really very carefully.
IMO, the MB commercials are bit behind in built quality.Performance Tunes from $850Wrecking RS OCTAVIA 2 Link

2016 Volkswagen Multivan Highline TDI450 Review | CarAdvice
Pros: Pushy bi-turbo diesel engine is excellent at speed; massive interior space with some very clever touches; swivelling middle row seats; sliding third row allows loads of room for luggage; good safety equipment
Cons: Urban drivability severely compromised by dual-clutch gearbox hesitation and stammering; brakes can jolt; front axle can shudder over bumps

Im not due to buy a new van for a couple of years yet, but when i do I'll buy another crewvan. Blue Motion would be nice, but i won't consider the auto after the all the DSG issues.

The local MB dealer harps on about transmission smoothness and MB engineering but neglects to say they're not built in Germany (lol) and I'm still waiting on VW dealer finding if a Crewvan with tdi400 can be "sneaked through". Would anyone here be interested in buying such a spec if it was possible?

Interesting review Tornado , seems others are not convinced of the DSG box either . As I have said before I do not like the fact the DSG tries to out think the driver . Yes I know it can change gears in a nano second but it does not get it right many times as I have discovered with ours .

I can't wait till 2018 when parallel imports act comes into effect, and I'd be able to import directly from the UK. I am hoping for a Manual, 4-motion, TSI multivan. (I have not checked it would actually be available there at the time). This would avoid the DGS issues. It has been a hassle to get the dealers here to do warranty fixes anyway, so I am happy to risk it with an independent warranty or even no warranty.Multivan MY12 TSI350 Red. From earlier reports they didn't use the DSG in off road vehicles because the DSG would get confused with what gear it should select when the wheels lose grip in sand or other terrain . The result as quoted was that it would burn out various components due to slippage etc .

I'm thinking the distributors will have to change their operating models and allow customers to pick their cars instead of them (VWA) deciding what you can and cannot buy here.Current: 2023 MY23 T-Roc R Lapiz Blue + Beats Audio + Black pack 2018 MY19 Golf R manual Lapiz Blue + DAP) 2018 MY18 Golf 110TSI (150TSI) Trendline manual White2014 Amarok TSI Red (tuned over 200kw + lots of extras) 2013 Up! manual Red 2017 Polo GTI manual Black Previous VWs and some others ...
