T5 wheel bolts

Hi all,

I've just fitted some 17in steel wheels on my van, could someone please post a pic of the standard wheel bolts? I'm fairly sure the ones I have are incorrect, I previously ran aftermarket alloys. Are the standard ones a 17mm head? Ball and seat or tapered? Overall length?

After a bit more research I think I've found what I need. M14x1.5 ball and seat type but I'm still not sure on bolt head size... this needs to be right so the centrecaps will fit on properly.

VW want $260 for a set of them :| Ebay ones work out to about $12 each plus postage from UK or Germany is up to $100.

Anyone have any other ideas?

Shame I threw away six sets of wheel nuts from our two T5's last year , only kept one set for each van for the spare wheel as we are running aftermarket alloys now .


Well who is a lucky boy then I just went down stairs to the man cave and lo and behold there is a plastic bag with twenty original VW steel wheel nuts still there . I must have not thrown them all out after all I know I gave the rims with tyres away to a mate of mine . Now if you PM me your details I can stick em in a post bag for you NO money just pay post cost will do . Howard
