Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Mosquito in T5

    Hi guys

I feel a bit stupid but I have around 10 mozzies in the van everymorning since September and I cannot find where they come from.

    Drive me nuts

Do you know where they could hide in a stagnant water in the T5 Multivan Highline ( aircon? )

    Thanks

Not likely any stagnate water as the air con drains out constantly through drainage tubes to the road , if you run the air con you should see some water dripping from the underside of the van . I could not see them getting in from outside through vents as they would have to bore holes through the air filter . Real strange one I suppose you keep the windows shut when parked ?

I get mozzies in my Golf if I leave the window open at night. They do have a trick of staying out of the airflow when I drive, so they stay a lot longer than I'd like. I have to swat them while driving if I see them, otherwise they are invisible. Bug spray works, spray liberally and lock it up for the day.
