Removing front seats - air bag disconnection

About to remove the front seats in a T5 with the intent of installing swivels to both seats. Just checking if it is sufficient to remove fuses before breaking the electrical connections to the seats. My logic is that the airbags are electrically operated so pulling (and replacing fuses) is simply taking away the trigger to setting anything off.

I was also told by a friend who worked on Porsches & Audis that after disconnecting they would touch/rub the battery leads together.
Maybe there is a condenser or something in the system that needs discharging.

The sensors in the seats are their twofold one for seatbelt warning and second for telling the airbag a seat is being sat on , apparently the passengers airbag will not deploy if it does not sense a weight on the seat be warned it can go of if in an accident you have a heavy weight on the seat .Someone on this VW forum had theirs deploy because of a handbag on the seat tricked the sensor . As others suggested battery off and leave then the lights on as it will drain off any residual charge or even leave the ignition on after disconnecting will do the same . Also worth noting do not turn on the car or reconnect the battery until all connections are reconnected or it may trigger a fault warning .

Appreciate the advice guys. Can someone confirm that nothing gets lost when the battery gets disconnected? I'm pretty sure, from reading elsewhere, that the DSG needs to relearn some stuff but that only takes a few ks. I also believe the radio does NOT need to be initialised after a global power down. I'm sure a lot of this is in the owner's manual but it is not the most interesting book I have ever had to get through.

does 'initialised' mean re-entering the radio security code ?, if that's different, check if you need
to enter the code when re-connected.

Found the bit in the owner's manual re: disconnecting the battery. Pretty specific in procedure. No warnings about losing anything. I guess it is always a smart move to disconnect the battery before ****ing with any of the electrics.
