The Windows have a fine security crime safe type mesh that is in a slim aluminium frame bonded to the glass.
I think they were Global windows, but they can be ordered in from Southern Spirt Campers.
Sorry if this is a little off topic but could you please you give more detail about this ... I tried googling both Global Windows and Southern Spirit Campers but couldn't find anything ... but then again I'm not very computer savvy!

Sorry for the delay, can't handle 40 degree heat in the workshop at the moment.
But i found the original stock height written down in the workshop and then remeasured today.
Stock
Driver Front 770 mm
Driver Rear 796 mm
Pass Front 768 mm
Pass Rear 785 mm
Seikel "Maxi" Lift after 4000km
Driver Front 803 mm + 33mm
Driver Rear 833 mm + 37mm
Pass Front 790 mm + 20mm
Pass Rear 833 mm + 48 mm
These are with the RIB bed (90kg) (Factory AUX battery 20kg?) and Under Chassis Wheelchair lift (140kg), so there currently is more weight on the passenger side from the battery, lift and bed.
I had removed the temp cabinet fit out to make the new cabinets out of lightweight ply, from memory, it was lower 5mm on the drivers side than the passenger when it was in.
I'll put up the new figures, once i get around to installing the new cabinets, new batteries and water tanks

Nice info,
Please let us know how you go with the king springs, (please if you can measure between centre of wheel hub and under arch prior to and after fitting to give real lift specs (without tyre size being an variable))
Mines 1BB factory which puts heavier springs in the rear and supposedly upgraded struts and shocks , have not looked at the actual numbers on the parts but will update here when upgrading suspension (soon)
Have mentioned somewhere before but can't find it at the moment (maybe archived)
VB AIR suspension For VW transporters T5 and T6
I have been studying their products for quite a while now and went and spoke to the Aussie Supplier/agent installer today, VB AIR are relatively unheard of in Australia and in T5 T6 forums in general from my research , I mentioned the name a few times on this and other forums but know one seems to be aware of them Still,
They guy I spoke to was extremely Knowledgable of the system and T5 T6 installs they also do Amarok kits now for the Amarok Guys,
I was really wanting air all along so I could get it down for normal driving and up when required off road , there is a few kits available but 2 main kits the standard and raised (+30mm) , both have the off road setting but the +30mm raised Kit has a longer front strut from what I've studied (Not stroke just strut length from what I've calculated/but forgot to ask)
The System is not cheap so its up to the individual to come to terms with whether they can afford it or not for the many benefits available, I myself am choosing between a VB AIR 4C raised and a Seikel Desert HD monroe kit at this very moment also, the pricing difference is at very very different ends of the spectrum but they are 2 different ball parks in suspension also 1 gives lift and harshness the other gives plushness and Full range of on the guts to full lift as well as auto levelling option and other function options available,
Hope you guys get some chat going about this as I have mentioned a few times in different threads and forums hope fully someone who may have it fitted already could tell us what they think of the system
PS: Seikel have just released another Kit this week that Uses Koni shocks and struts giving 3 options for non maxi T5 and T6 transporters (same 30mm lift though)
Fitted air suspension in 2014, done about 20,000 kms, a lot over rough unpaved roads.
Knew and took the risks with air suspension, mainly unproven here in the T5 application at that time.
Airrex front and rear, with Accuair self levelling control. Generally that setup gave a very good ride
especially on dirt roads.
There are engineer requirements for NSW, probably other states too, adds to the cost.
Insurance co. was ok with modifications, no extra premium.
At about 10,000 kms the LH front strut broke a shaft, so fitted a used set of OEM struts while
deciding the future. Meanwhile rear air suspension has been trouble-free, spacers have been added
for more clearance.
Decided to give a bit of a lift to front with Kings raised springs.
Further to fitting Kings springs - removed old LH strut, dismantled, found it has very little resistance on
the down stroke, rough on the upstroke, leaked gas and oil. New struts ordered. Job is on hold.
ABP Bilstein front air struts look good, but so far unable to purchase seperately.
I checked most manufacturers including VB before fitting the AirRex, but they were not affordable
to the budget, when you do decide on a system make absolutely sure you are getting everything
you need when getting quotes. With VB you will probably get a properly engineered and top quality
suspension system, since they are/were offered as a VW option, - it's just that cost !, and for any
system, spare parts ?.
If my memory is ok, the VB was locally quoted then at about $10,000.00. fitted,
Drive-Rite at about $9,500.00. fitted.
My engineer that did the engineering on my van for Swivel seats and other items, told me i'd be looking at around that amount for air suspension and engineer plate.
He just said that most people just go the King spring with OEM struts for the extra lift on a T5/T6
I didn't go any further, as i was concerned about an Air system on rough roads and problems if out west and i couldn't fix it.
I just when with the Seikel HD monroe option, to get the lift i wanted, its better than i imagined, i don't have any harshness in ride quality empty or loaded.
I found it made a huge difference in ride quality loaded or unloaded over the OEM setup and anyone can work on a simple strut and spring setup.
Doesn't handle as well as my old WRX and GT, but pretty damm good for a van.
What does the Seikel Koni option offer over the Bilstien or Monroe version??
Measured spring lengths - free, removed from strut -
Kings (new) 335mm,
OEM (old, unknown kms) 355mm (20mm longer than Kings raised KVFR19)
Coil wire diameter (over paint) - oem = 16.2mm, Kings = 18.8mm
number of turns = 6 for both
Diameter oem = 183mm, Kings = 185mm
Monroe strut - full stroke* = 175mm (length of shaft 240mm to 65mm)
shaft diameter = 25mm, shaft thread length = 54mm
body diameter = 58mm
spring plate diameter = 205mm
* full stroke would not be achieved with assembled strut.
Hey Syncrotek
Finally someone who is going to the same anal true measurement real world (non marketing BS) detail that I will when my suspension arrives! (think I will have to have chat to you in the near future and discuss a few things if your willing chew the fat a bit ? been wanting these real world measurements from all suspension types before buying but don't the think many had the time to goto this detail, and I've already purchased on friday after waiting 2 years for this type of info )
PS: what is your Van type / year? just so we know which vehicle your specs are in relation too (i know most are similar but there are a fair few differences with some PR codes and suspensions)

Yeah when I was researching/studying air systems the only 2 systems being a truly designed system for the T5 T6 was VBAIR (and yes and as you stated and I had also found out and had confirmed was the Factory fitted air option ordered thru VW(not offered by VW in Aus for T5 T6 models though) (Note: also a few variations available of VB air for the T5 T6 main differences standard and Raised, not sure of the VW factory spec version)
The other One was Goldschmitt , don't expect to find a site with english on it in regards to this brand it was very hard to research but available in europe and seemed on par with the VB in price and design (when I say price in mean in europe where pricing was actually more accurate and realistic)(Australia is typically overpriced on everything because its not as easily accessible so the monopoly market get in on it)
The rest of them were not really designed for T5 T6 they were just bitzers a bit of this accuair a bit of this strut a bit of this air bag a bit of this compressor etc , non of them had the required air bag offset at the front strut to keep the clearance required so the (large diameter) bag doesn't hit/rub the inside of the arch/guard etc , VB was the only only 1 that could be fit without Drilling or welding of holes or mods to the base vehicle and was truly designed for this vehicle , this is very important to me to be able to reverse something back without evidence or damage , and basically without interfering with other structural integrity's of the vehicle)
Anyhow I did a conversion of what the fully installed and engineered costs were in Europe and added a $1000 AU to cover shipping etc and came up with around $9000 being what it should come out as , But this is Australia and as I stated above is Typically overpriced, If the quote had came to this in Aus for VB or Goldschmitt I would gone for it, but it was not and I have gone back to the Seikel option,
With the Seikel option though I am still going to study the kit when it arrives and will post whether it is a true upgrade in relation to struts and shocks or if its just a few manufactures standard struts and shocks with Seikel stickers on them(iE: marketing Lies) , I already know the rear springs are an EiBACH which is who VW use for most of there vehicle springs,
also For BRYN23
Trying to get any true information from Seikel is actually like pulling teeth, all you get is generalised marketing info from a receptionist even if you ask for more detailed info from one of there technical people you will not get it, so the terrible reply i got in regards to the differences between the Bilstein and the Monroe was that the monroe was more comfortable and the Bilstein was more "streamlined" whatever the F&*K that means, they have changed the description of the 2 about 4 times over the last 2 years they are now called Monroe = Comfort , Bilstein = Sport , but they still recommend monroe for rear if a light or unloaded vehicle as the bilstein will make a knocking Noise !!! and if you get the Bilstein front you have to put the custom spacers in the top section of the bearing mount (also with no description of why?)
So with the Koni who knows , all I noticed was they were more expensive with no real detail and the listing only came up a day after i'd finished contacting them,
Came from, and spoilt by T3 Syncro (off-roaded). Well you can cross air susp. off now that you have bought the raised kit.
For serious off roading the Seikel kit will give more susp. travel etc. We could communicate by PM about air susp. if you wanted to,
or the thread might get clogged.
BTW how's Izabarack going with his conversion ?
Guys I have a 2010 Multivan 4 motion, it has been lowered before I got it, looks good but not the direction I'm going for - I'm looking more for soft roader so I would like to lift it up as much as I can without issues and get some larger all terrain. I have read all these posts and spoke to dave? at Trakka who told me they could get a Seikel kit in 3 months or so for my van - at $3200 including shipping to Melbourne.
1. Fairly pricey
2. Its gunna take 3 months!
We went to the you yangs with the MTB's the other day and corrugations are horrible! I need new shocks now as mine are buggered so I was thinking of going the King Springs and looking for some shocks but on the king springs site it says their springs are for T5 Transporter but will not fit T5 Multivan...
I am also speaking to Pedders in Ferntree Gully but they do not have a set so would be custom springs and Pedders shocks which would be ok but downtime for the car could be 2 weeks by the time they remove springs, send them off and get some made.
I would be happy with the King Springs but unsure if they are the same as the Transporter ones...
Has anyone lifted their Multivan here not with the seikel kit?
And what shocks has anyone used/suggest?
Thanks in advance guys, any help would be appreciated.
BTW, the measurements for my van ATM are 715mm from ground to centre of wheel arch to ground at the front and 725mm at the rear, hoping for a bit more!

Hey there,
The Transporter and Multi are basically the same vehicle so don't know why they wouldn't fit, under the VW parts system Multivan comes under the transporter section, there are minor differences but i would predict there extremely similar (some part no.s are the same) I have researched the suspension a lot for these vehicles and there are many many different setups from VW factory depending on vehicle options and types But that being said they should all still be compatible (mainly just different heights and ride quality using different springs and struts) the exception to this rule is the MAXI vs Standard suspension mainly the front strut difference of mounting but other than that they should all be compatible up to 2015 where the T6 has a different front strut axial bearing size i believe
I Bought the last Seikel kit last week from trakka thus why he has none left, note I believe the struts and shocks are longer with a Seikel kit (I will confirm properly its true dimensions for the first time in this thread when it arrives as I have been trying to find the real truth on this for the last 2 years) and I will be lifting it a bit more with a few other special mods I'm going to do to get the full 50mm legal lift in vic, not sure if the pedders option run longer struts and shocks and what valving they have to match the springs you get, and in my opinion all the King spring lifts I've seen are very minimal lift , my theory on this is they only measured one empty SWB van (which if was a FWD stock base model van has lower factory suspension than the rest, it may have also been like a 2004 model) so the lift is not where it could be especially in the front,
Also before you get this done please re-measure "from the centre of your HUB" (not the ground) to under the guard arch this eliminates the 1,000,000 different wheel and tyre combinations that give false lift measurements on all the threads I'm following, It is also the factory method for suspension measurement and By VW, Seikel , VB air , Lovells etc etc
That reminds me lovells do 2 spring sets for the T5 but not sure on the lift as it doesn't really state lift but rather heavy duty or normal duty if I remember correctly, most of the Heavy duty sets (including VW and Seikel ) are really only heavier in the rear to compensate for extra load,
anyhow hope this clarifies a few things, I'm not that far from FTG if you want to have a chat about this in person, send me a PM if you like and I'll explain what I have studied a bit better
