  • What is on your T6 wishlist?

What features/options would you like to see on the T6 when it is available?

I would like more power, say 150kw+. As a minimum, the current 132kw.
I am more than happy with the DSG at the moment, so at this stage I'd want DSG.
I'd like a better/cheaper bluetooth handsfree option. The dealer prices for the RNS510 are ridiculous. Also, have it so it is iPhone compatible with text messages etc.
I like the new Ford Transit roof rack option where they fold flat when not in use.
I'd like a more comfortable 2 seat bench seat in the front. The current VW 2 seater is very uncomfortable.
Arm rests, IMO, should be standard.
Rear camera should be standard with the RNS510 IMO.
I'd also order the twin sliding doors and rear wing doors.

    As the above +
the RVC should be standard regardless of the radio you choose, but also the options to select front cam and maybe the side cams fitted in the mirrors with the additional screens fitted at the end of the dashboard

the engine - at least bring back the 5 cyl. if the VW is unable to put the V6 in
on 4Motion - difflocks, front, rear and the centre, raised off road suspension with better approach and departure angle and of course better underbody protection and I don't mean the plasic trays. Dual battery preparation as standard on 4Motion (so, you can just install the second battery)

automaticaly foldable mirrors when you park.

    Factory options:
    Bull bar
    Side bar
    IR night vision
    Rear metal bumper bar
    100+L fuel tank
    Performance Tunes from $850
    Wrecking RS OCTAVIA 2 Link

......also, map updates for the RNS510, should be for free during the 3 year warranty period......but then again, it takes VW 3 years to do an update.

Or they should make the unit to accept the third party maps.

I don't think I be in the market for a new T6 for a couple of years but on the head unit with the GPS you are mentioning how are the maps loaded ? is it a DVD ROM disk or a SD card or is it loaded at the factory direct .

How would like all 4 corner air bag suspension with awesome ground clearance at the touch of a button, 'I have' - I also added rear diff lock and front LSD... more in this thread.

Better fuel consumption, so a smaller fuel tank (900 - 1000 ks is fine per tank)
Lighter van, say under 2 ton
Sat nav as standard, and yes affordable updatable maps each year
And to me, most importantly, a work van that will manage at least 400,000 ks without costly repairs
My first two T4's did this and more, I thought they were brilliant
This current T5 has cost me around $15,000 in additional mechanical repairs up to 270,000 ks, so I'll be seriously looking at other brands next time

RVC should be standard in a vehicle this size.
An option for barn doors in the multi would be nice.

I like the idea of better phone integration and fold up roof racks.

For a people carrier the 103kW is alright although I'm looking at more power next time around. If you have a load I can see the extra power being very important.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

a bit more go for a heavy van, would be nice. You can always use less throttle to save fuel
                  rear wheel drive
cup holders that work (for an iced coffee)??

Significantly reduced price disparity between DC Transporters and Amaroks...in both 2WD and AWD. Basic dual cab chassis Rok can be had around $40K but the same Transporter is skyward of $50K

Other than that...the T5.2 that I'd be interested in has virtually the same bling features as the one I have now. So I can't imagine that this'd change in the T6.

Regardless...couldn't afford a T5 and I don't expect the situation to change in the 6. Cheaper to invest in the 4...

I agree with most but should add that Bluetooth in a commercial vehicle shouldn't appear in any options list, it should be standard. Heck, if Holden can make auto-reverse parking standard on the VF, VW has no excuse to have Bluetooth an option. And there is no excuse to charge ridiculous prices for a reversing camera. I know VW cars carry a "premium euro" image here, which doesn't really match with the same rep back home, however commercial vehicles are a different ball game and I see more and more Iloads with some fancy signage on them the way Transporters used to have.

I have to agree Tornado manufacturers are getting stingy with options and standard fittings . Bluetooth has been around for years now and should be almost mandantory , I laugh a lot when I see car ads on TV and they say "now with Bluetooth connectivity" Duh hello I have had Bluetooth in our vans courtesy of imported Chinese head units for years now along with built in GPS reverse cameras etc and these units are not that expensive so manufacturers are withholding what is easy to build as standard in cars these days . I believe it is a ploy to fleece owners for more money to get these things that they should have in every car . When you think of the safety aspect having Bluetooth is a huge step forward to save people using phones in their hands , the same for GPS having mine working in the background when I am driving to a new location is a safety thing as it means I do not have to look up a directory , plus it will give voice guidance as I progress and then brings back music etc after each direction .

It would be nice if VW use decent quality trim materials that don't scratch when you just look at them, as in the T5. I look after my vehicles better than most, but each time I enter or exit the T5 I watch where I put my feet as a rub of the shoes leaves a scratch in the plastic that is permanent.

It was not bad in MY05 models, at least I didn't notice any scratches in my T5 even after 100,000km. But hey, there could always be a room for the improvement.

Plastic trim scratching is not just a VW problem , I work in new cars 5 days a week fitting sunroofs . This has me getting in and out of the cars dozens of times over the day , I have made special heavy vinyl covers for the seats and more covers for the console dash etc , also I wear soft sole shoes . As you can imagine when you are working on a customers brand new car the last thing you want is to leave marks on the trim , and I will add some cars are more prone to marking than others , I always keep a special treatment handy just in case .
