Okay Ivo so if the code for the dash light is easily done what else has to be done to change the ECU,s mind ??? with the DPF removed ie either new pipe as listed or the alternative method ?? your help is appreciated .H

Cutting open the DPF stripping the innards and welding back up is a better solution. I don't write the software so I can comment on exactly what is done with the tune. I have seen a couple of failed delete tunes though and they pump out a heap of smoke when the regen kicks in.

I'm no expert Sunny, but from memory: Back pressure is massively reduced for the entire rev range when the DPf is gone so the turbo boost needs readjusting and so does fuel supply. Hence the improvements in performance when its gone. Also as h100vw said the regen process needs to be turned off in the ECU so it does not dump extra fuel in trying to regen.

i have read the same thing in the uk forums. delete is done which turns off the re-gen.
then a tuned is need to suit the different back pressure.
im pretty sure you have it right Ivo.

No real change in economy, but no improvement either. I know what your probably thinking, performance has improved and economy has stayed the same so in effect economy has improved in relation to performance. But as I was one of the early Viezu customers here in Aus they gave me all 4 tunes to try. Ranging from trackday to super economy. I tried them all for a few tanks of fuel each for no improvement in mpg.

Other say they have seen some improvement, I got none.

Thanks Ivo for that info I know someone here in Qld who might be able to help so if I go down the road of removal of the DPF I will give them a call , you see my wife will drive this new van very little short trips and I can just see this DPF thing rearing its ugly head and causing a problem maybe .
