  • Ignition Leads for t4 2.0

    Gday.

Due to a leaky coolant bottle cap, I have a corroded ignition/spark plug lead. (The downside of placing the distributor directly below a plastic bottle....)

In looking around for the part, I've noticed that there's about 20 times as many available for 2.5's.

    Are they the same plugs?

Could I essentially buy a five pack and have one spare?

Is it clear how much of a tightarse I am?

Beardface, check to see if the different leads have a different capacitance value
I was going through a lot of leads on a 98 T4, on gas, before we (mechanic) realised running on gas was upping the ignition voltage and popping the capacitors in the spark leads
I haven't pulled a lead apart to see what was in them, but it was info passed on to me by a well respected mechanic who fixed the problem VW couldn't, by fitting aftermarked leads with a higher rating

I ended up getting fleeced at Repco...for $120. For a set with no heat shields.
I pryed the shields off the old ones and put them on the new ones.
he ones with heat shields are $230. Seriously, $230 for four leads. (???)
And retailers get sooky about the internet stealing their business.
