You should have 2 years warranty on parts fitted by VW.
    But, better check it out.

For reference, mine was just over 52k @ 24 months old. We are now at 36 months and 78k and haven't had any new issues (although when it happened it was instant so there was no lead up).

Given yours is a 2011... I wonder when the "new improved" version came out and if I can expect another problem at some point... I do have a 5 year extended warranty so it's likely to be covered, but of course it would be nicer if it just didn't happen.

                On the 132kw Bi-Turbo motors.

Pretty sure it was only the early '10/'11 ones that suffered from it.

Mine is one of the first examples of the 103kW single turbo unit (one of the launch stock... actually both my cars are launch stock of their model )

Ah yes, I've done one of those as well. They're at the back of the motor, and not fun to do.

Hi guys, I've just come across this site whilst googling an EGR fault with my 2010 VW Transporter 132kw Bi turbo.
It came up with a flashing glow plug light and a steady engine light.
After having VW diagnose it I was told it required an exhaust temp sensor and an EGR valve, $413 and $3242 respectively. This just 3 months out of warranty.
I replaced exhaust sensor in less than 10 mins and it has stopped flashing glow plug light however engine light is still steady and power is being restricted ( not quite limp mode but definitely restricted )
Needless to say I was looking for any info on replacing EGR valve
                            Thanks in advance Peter

So the EGR valve is $3242???????
Mine has had it replaced twice already.

Question: VW genuine parts are covered by a 2 year warranty..........Does that 2 years warranty also cover parts that were replaced under warranty?

It would be very close to $2000 as that quote includes 8 hours labour.
