  • Genuine VW service pricing

    I am curious as to what everyone is paying for their T5 servicing at VW dealerships. (not interested in non genuine service pricing please).

    Had my MY11 T5 serviced yesterday. It was the 30,000 km service. It cost $522.00.
    I'll post the 15,000 km service price later (when I find the invoice).

    MY10 T5.2 done at Paul Wakeling in Campbelltown:

    Dec 2010 - $391.50 for a 15K
    July 2011 - $629.65 for a 30K

    Mind you the 30K included new wipers which were $51.80 ex GST and a spare 1L oil @ $21.50 ex GST which makes it ~$550 for the service.

    One thing worth noting, Oil prices... In January 2011 I was quoted these prices for the VW genuine Longlinfe 3 oil from the same dealership:

    5L = $123.35
    1L = $ 15.30

    By July 2011 they had gone up by a fair margin to:

    $154.15 - 5lt
    $30.15 - 1lt

    Before hand it was worth getting the dealer to use all your oil in 1L bottles rather than 5L jobs, don't know if they cottoned onto that or what (also note that neither of these prices are what I have ever actually paid for oil... the invoice always seems to have some other random number on it :S

    Since nothing is fixed and they itemise everything, prices have just... well gone up and not by a small percentage I might add. Consider that it's a minimum of $60 more *just* in oil over the course of 6 months.

    If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

        Just checked the invoices.....

        15,000 service = $418.60
        30,000 service = $579.65 (sorry, I was wrong on my original post)

        My oil was the same price at both services - $134.25 + gst. In the quantity column, it says 7.5000 for the oil. Does that mean it uses 7.5 litres????

          I was told 7 Litres which I thought was quite a lot considering how much some V8's I have had take

          If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

            Just had my 120000 klms service done and with bits and pices it was 950 odd dollars at Bundaburg VW. What really annoyed me was that the engine oil was over $200.

                I just had the 30,000 km service on my 2.5 Diesel 09 Caravelle, $688.00
                No extra work performed.
                I was obviously expecting too much when I thought that it would be washed.
                I did a little test too, the CV boot has been flicking grease all over the inside of the wheel and on steering components, it has a small hole in it, and guess what, not a word was mentioned about it.

                  2011 103TDI MV, 15000km service today (15677km exactly) $496.12 .......

                  2 x TPI software updates for the DSG gearbox. 1 for lag (now actually noticably better) and 1 for grinding gears on gearchanges. Both apparently known problems, had to ask for it.
                  1 x recall engine software update.

                  Got it washed, but last time I'm going to VW NMG (Brisbane Nth side) for a service, what a rip-off after looking at what others paid.

                    I thought it might have been yours in there with mine on Monday, so your's got washed A.
                    I like how they do a follow up call to get your feedback and take no action, I'll try again this time.

                            Question for anyone that has recently had the recall/software for the DPF done....... Has your fuel economy changed?
                            Mine has worsened. On long runs on a motorway, it seems the same. Driving around town, it is now 1.5l/100km worse.

                              Do you mean DIY, or non-VW dealerships, even though they are VW accredited service agents?
