Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I think you'll find a lwb in this brochure. p27.

It will not let me open the pdf you sent.

Can you copy any of the info?

Are you just opening it on the net through your normal browser?

Thanks for trying to show me something I have not seen before....and still have not...

Maybe its just me but these LED daytime running lights just scream look at me look at me . I am sure manufacturers make these things to feed certain peoples egos . Every time I see a HSV and other models etc. with these leds on I only think of the drivers ego being over inflated as people will look and say" I Just Want One"

I actually really like the LED DRLs. Especially on the Skoda RS, they really make the styling of the front of that car pop. But you are right, that is 100% what they are for, the implied safety benefits are just the logical argument.

Thats one way to look at.........But, in most new cars with DRL's, the driver cannot switch them off. So to the uneducated, it would appear that the driver has an ego problem. In some cases it might be true, but in most, I am sure it is not.

I do remember when I was travelling in the US in 97 that once we crossed the border into Canada it was law to have running lights on all the time because for a large part of the year it was foggy with reduced visibility the cars sold in Canada were built with it as standard there was no off option while driving . Australia I don,t think so its just an ego thing , but as our European made cars come from a continent that also has lousy weather most of the year then I suppose we are going to get cars built this way . But like I said maybe its just me , the only justification for additional lighting in cars would be for black ones [my pet hate with a vengance] I reckon all black cars should have lots of extra lighting for night time as you can,t see the mongrels .

Actually my mate had one in Germany. He said it was bright green and he thought it would have low resale, but because of the configuration being LWB, 4motion and 4 captain's chairs in the back instead of the usual 2+ rock&roll bed some Russian dudes bought it for their high-class executive market and were prepared to repaint, so he actually made money on it. Another awesome VW resale value story!

I had trouble opening this link too, still nothing.

If you google the Multivan Business, you'll also find a schmick (optional LWB) 6-seater with tv, drinks cabinet, all heated seats and electric folding table! Ok the drinks cabinet is just storage space, but you get the idea.
