Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Caradvice are claiming this is the 2012 T5..I'm not sure. I thought I saw those headlights being offered on Ebay once.

I have a feeling we will see those headlights on the top of the line Multivan Business (when and if its ever released) and the standard Multivan range as on option.

Found this post from somewhere in Europe:

Volkswagen Multivan Blue Emotion Release Date | VW Review Release 2011

Sounds like these lights are now optional on T5

Cool, are you also bringing in Bluemotion vans? Imagine, you could sell a LWB Multivan Highline with all the extras and still get in under the luxury car tax threshold because of the low fuel mileage figure.

Nope, no word on Bluemotion yet but I seriously doubt it. We are getting the petrol later this year. LWB Multivan also not available in oz.

At risk of being off-topic, why don't they bring out the LWB version? Almost every other peoplemover manufacturer has done this, so obviously this is a suitable market, just don't call it the Grand Multivan! And yes I'm aware of the Caravelle LWB but it's not the same thing.

yes but that's how VWA see it. The Caravelle is the LWB offering. In the last model where the Caravelle was available in both lengths all it did was cannibalise Multivan sales. When you're in a small market and need to keep the model structure simple, you can't have that. the more variations of a model that there are, the more complex logistics and stockholding is, so you look a the models you're more likely to sell and then just sell them.

Wonder if they can be retro-fitted to current Transporter easily?

The LED DTRL's look sooo much better then what they come with standard.

I have never seen or heard of a Long Wheel Base Multivan any where in the world.

I take it you mean the LWB Caravelle and not the Multivan.
