  • Multivan 103kW drive away deal $49,990 check out VW Australia website

Looks like Volkswagen is doing a drive away deal on the 103kW model for $49,990, Offer is only available on vehicles sold and delivered by 30 September 2010.

    Multivan Multitasks

It's making me think seriously about heading into a dealership and taking one for a test drive. We were thinking seriously about getting one but thought we might try and get a 6 speed manual 128kW model but I'm worried they won't be well maintained and we might have engine problems.
Buying new and keeping it for 5+ years might be the way to go. Dark Wood is my pick of colours atm but I'm let to see if in the steel.

But whats the delivery time on ordered vehicles at the mo.
Perhaps trying to move floor stock?
Damn good deal though. Should push second hand prices down a bit too.

It's always just after you buy one

It's a pretty good discount since they are normally about $56k drive away

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

All those people with 2nd hand Multivans in the mid to high 40's will be spewing now people will looking at a new van.

We're thinking of heading out next weekend around Sydney to check out the 103kW and take it for a test drive.
Can anyone recommend a good VW dealership around Sydney for test drives? In the past I've been to Parra and Penrith several times and the sales staff were less than helpful and we walked out.
If I wanted to get new I'd be ringing around AUS for the best deal.

Since the prices were dropped earlier This year the second hand market hasn't caught up, prices are still pretty high.

As for a good dealer, the guys at Campbelltown were fantastic, although didnt have a multivan, remember though that the Transporter is basically the same, so in the worst case you can always drive one of those for the feel and look at a Multivan in the show room for what you'd actually be getting.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

The additional weight of the Multivan fitout does put a performance hit on the engine though, and should be taken into account when making a decision.

I wonder if this is to clear out the remaining 2010 models as the 2011 must be coming out in Oct?

Brought a T4 Transporter late 2004/early 2005? when they were running them out.
$36,000 with aircon, which was a good deal then.
I knew the aircon was fitted here is aus, didn't want it and told them not to bother having it fitted, and I was quite happy to pay the $36,000.
Got told if I wanted it without the aircon, the van would cost me $39,000

                  Put the bloody thing in....

I called two dealers today, Denlo Group and Barloworld. No phone return call from Denlo Group, same story with Penrith when I called them a few weekends ago. Barloworld said they don't sell Multivans from the Five Dock sales centre but I' d have to call Barloworld Mascot but they didn't offer to put me through.

I'm not sure what is wrong with these dealers, I call and ask if they're taking part in the drive away deal and I'd like to come in and speak to a sales person and take a Mulitvan for a test drive but I don't seem to get a call back from the sales staff. Maybe it's the reception staff not passing it across but I'm getting annoyed with it. I'm a serious buyer who wants good service, I don't think I'm asking for much considering how much I'd be spending.

Does anyone have a good dealer around Sydney, southern or northern Sydney they can recommend who wants a potential sale because I'd rather head straight there and chat to that dealership and give them my business.

brasstinman, perhaps try some regional dealers.
I've found them to be much more willing to help and deal.

Give Philip Fairhill at Gerald Slaven VW in Canberra a call.

I'm from Brisbane, but buying from him. Best service and a really good price .... worth making a trip down there and driving our Van back (when it arrives in November)

Thanks Cousin, a regional dealer sounds like a good idea. I'll also give Gerald Slaven a call as well when I'm chasing a good price.
Thanks for replying to my post.

I called Denlo, Mascot and Blacktown dealers today. Denlo apologised but they said they'd been trying to call me and my phone wasn't in a service area. I'd believe that as reception in my building at work is terrible.
I'll humbly eat crow as all sales staff I spoke to today were very helpful and weren't in a hurry to get me off the phone.
still none had a 103 to drive and two of the dealers told me the 132 isn't worth the money and i'd believe them. Since the drive away deal is on it just makes the 103 too good a value and unless you're towing all the time two of the dealers said the 132 would just be wasted, not to mention the money you'd outlay.

Called in to see Sam at Bayford on Thursday, damn but weren't the sales staff all over me! Including I believe the dealer principal.
What a waste, could have gone at least three new sets of wheels off the showroom floor!!
