Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • T4 2.5 ACU Relay box missing module / connector?

    Hi guys,

I wonder if anyone with a 2.5 petrol T4 could help me with this.

I bought a Vag-Com generic cable and installed VCDS to connect to the ECU in my '94 2.5 petrol T4. VCDS could not find the ECU. On tracing the white OBD1 connector it seems to be connected to nothing in the relay / fuse box! Can anyone enlighten me as to what should be here? It seems like there should be some sort of module?

The white OBD1 connector cable (yellow and grey / white) is connected behind where I have circled in red.

The amount of relays/modules vary depending upon what options are installed.
I find VW electrics bamboozling..........and I'm trained in electronics!

Unfortunately, I sold my T4 and can't go out and take a look anymore.......but that was a 2004 model and may have been a bit different.
