best way to sell broken 08 T5 multivan

Hi folks, In December 2007 I bought a new 08 model comfortline multivan T5. Anyway the gear box has gone on it and it has done 245000 ks so I am not going to spend the money fixing it. What is the best way to maximise the money I can get for van/parts.

Unless you are very patient and happy to part it out in your driveway...then the best you are going to be able to do is find a VW specialist looking for a donor. Even then you won't get much more than scrap value out of it.

Fixing it would get you more...but if it's uneconomical to do so...

Not clear is it manual or auto ? Our 2005 T5 cost $8500 to have the auto rebuilt and it had only done 120000 kays .
