Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Above head (glasses) storage solution

I have no idea what its called and google isn't helping much, but the unit compartment next to the windscreen rear view mirror on some t5s, presumably for glasses, doesn't hold bits very well.
So what do other t5ers use it for or do with it? I also have the buttons that is a favorite button, call button and vw assist button which i haven't used.
Has anyone modified this area or use the storage pocket for anything in particular? as whatever i put in there always falls out going up any bumpy hill or incline.
    Cheers Frank.

You can buy a silicone based webbed matting from those reject shops , it is brilliant as it stops things perfectly from moving . Easily cut with scissors to sit inside the console .

You could add some stretch net to keep stuff in.

          franco,
what it needs is a larger lip at the front to keep stuff in there.Maybe you could glue on some card or plastic strip
