Boot wont open when ulocking car

I have a 2012 Golf GTI and when I installed a popup reverse camera I found out I couldn't unlock or open the boot unless I held down the boot release button on the fob or had the car key turned in the injection. And ideas for how to fix this?

    General Arteon Tips and Tricks

Here are a couple of tips that I've learned owning an Arteon/VW that may not be obvious to a new owner - despite 'reading' through the entire manual. Adding them here for easy/future reference.

    Fuel Cap Holder

After owning VWs for the past 15+ years, I only recently...

    Intermittent Starting Problem-T Cross

Mostly my T Cross starts instantly, but lately I have had a problem that I experienced when the vehicle was new. It fails to respond to the starter button, without even the starter motor tuning over; a click of the solenoid is all I hear. I jumped it with a power pack, drove it across the road to my...

    No lights or noises. Dead.

Checked both fuses 10A and 20A , all ok.
Tried pressing/holding the ON button for over 10 seconds. No response.

Anything else I can/should check before...

    Myths about mk8

Andrew from Volkswizard has posted an excellent video (as usual), related to mk8 myths. Even I learnt a new trick (tapping in the blank area below the home button).
As for his method of increasing the cruise control speed (by 10kph), I just swipe up on the haptic touchpad.

    Ignition Push to Start Button

The button has been reluctant to work on the first push as it used to and the other day I thought it was not going to work at all so some investigation was called for. I did a search and a Skoda owner had kindly been there before me and posted a video on how it needs to be pulled apart and the contacts...

Here We Go Again - EPB

    2009 Passat CC 2.0TDI

Okay, about three years ago I had the flashing amber light in the dash EPB button, along with the Parking Brake dash warning light. The Auto Hold also stopped working and the EPB couldn't be activated by the dash button (you could hear that the motor wasn't activating)....

    Hi,

I've just purchased as 2018 Passat Comfortline (with R-Line Pack). I noticed that the button for the drive modes doesn't actually work (and neither does the button below it that turns off the stop start function). I also can't seem to find how to change the drive modes in the infotainment...

  • Golf R exhaust valve wiring guide

    Hi,

I thought I would share some info about how I wired up my Golf R valves in an attempt to keep it looking as factory as possible. I wanted to be able to operate them by a on/off switch in the console as opposed to selecting different modes which I also thought would be a much simpler...

  • Auto On Off Disable button not working

    Hi All
I have just bought a second hand Tiguan, 2017 Allspace.

What I have noticed is that the disable auto on off button doesn’t work on pressing, or if it does only holds for a few stops then reverts.

Is anyone familiar with this problem, or any fixes?

Vw arteon driver mode button retrofit

    Hello,
I have a 2018 tdi arteon r line which doesn't have the button beside the dsg shifter to select driving modes unlike some of the arteon models from my year.
I was wondering if it was possible to get the button, fit and wire it and code it via vcds? It seems like the button is avaliable...

    Start/Stop Button replacement

    Hi all,

Over the last few weeks the start stop button in my MK7 Golf TDi has been increasingly unreliable. Sometimes I have to press it 1-20 times to either turn the car on or off!
