Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Please help

Can some one please help and tell me what the “tether/Anchorage” points in the ceiling of the multivan do, I think there are four of them one either side behind the driver and passenger and the other two above/behind the rear seats.
    Cheers for the help.

In BMW's, they're for the dog barrier. I haven't seen one on a multivan before... but they must exist somewhere.

Is there anyway to add pics? I’ll try to upload a pic.

These are the roof mounts for the dog guard.

I think the front ones are for the child sleeping bay option and the rear ones are for the block out curtain also a sleep package.

If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

Certainly not child anchor points thats for sure , when I held my certification for vehicle modifications it used to shock me that people would not consult their owners manual to locate child seat anchor points . The number of times we would see tie downs at the outer sides being used and then not even in line with the central point of a seat being used !!
