Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • T4 Caravelle roof lining

    The roof lining in my T4 Caravelle is starting to drop and the foam backing it's glued to is starting to crumble away.
    Just wondering if anyone can recommend a place in Melbourne that can refurbish/reglue these.

    Cheers.

    Contact any motor trimmer in your area , they will be able to do the new lining . The foam backing of the velour is a petro chemical compound and over time it decays to the point where the foam goes to dust or just a sticky gooy mess . They will take out the trim strip it down and then recover with new velour , don,t ask if they can reglue you may get offended if they laugh at you . {take it from me a 50 plus year retired motor trimmer }
