    • Great Chris, I am jealous mate! gotta do something bout my seats real soon, especially with the windy road I will be using shortly to travel to work and back.

        • Strangely, I love those white walls and moon caps

Try some cleaning stuff called "Road Warrior" (Kitten I think?) for the seats, got a few greasy finger marks etc off the Cobras when I installed 'em in the VR6.

          Nice work!

            • Here's what i did and why:

I turned up some dia35x20mm spacers with an 8mm hole in them out of 6061 Aluminium to lift the seats up 20mm at the mounting points. This allowed me to drop the height adjustment back down 20mm and thus giving better leg support. 20mm was just an educated guess dimension that i plucked out of my backside, but i reckon it's pretty much right. Maybe an extra 5mm would be absolutely ideal, but this is good enough for me.. They were pretty damn good before, but this has really put the icing on the cake. I'm super happy with the location of everything now. The seating position in relation to the steering wheel and pedals is pretty much how I used to set up my Gokarts, so it suits me "down to the ground".

EDIT: Love those inserts. Must get a set. And a GTI steering wheel is on the cards too.

                    • If the cops go to that extent looking over my van, i've got bigger issues than seat mounts. Hahaha.

What about the front grill bumper section on a caddy it looks very basc could it be changed for something? That 'turkcom' site although I couldnt read there dopy lingo there was one that stood out, where would those body kits come from.

Iam in the process of setting up a new business and thinking a dressed up Caddy with the KW lowered sspension, color coded (maybe) custom front end and other stuff would turn heads..
Throw ideas and websites at me.

We do live in the country and will travel LOTS of dirt roads so big rims thin tires are out.
I don't know if its available in Australia and haven't read all 35 pages so have no idea if this has been mentioned already but the caddy is based on another van/car/people carrier sold in Europe called the sharan (would have been the sheila out there lol), I'd say the vast majority of body mods here are lifted from that as the finishes are more refined as opposed to being designed as a work horse, bumpers etc are a straight swap, wheels tend to be OEM to rainging from VW to Bently items, My car detail sponsor for example drives a white kitted caddy running Bently 20's

                          • I do like the idea of air ride or air shocks.. But i'm happy with the way it is.. Same goes for replacing the bumpers and all that sort of stuff... It's just my daily..

Fitted a tow bar yesterday.. Genuine VW. Took about an hour or a bit more.. Getting it wired up on Tuesday so I can tow the Golf to Drysdale on Thursday..

Got it through a friend straight from the Dealership... If you don't have rear parking sensors you can just buy the bar and make your own loom... If you do you have to buy the whole plug in wiring loom which costs about $900 total...

Cheers, dude! I'm always looking to make small improvements here and there..
