Does anyone know how to code this message out with OBD 11. There are times when there is no need to turn on the dipped headlights but the message wont go away on the dash until I turn on "auto" or dipped headlights

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

My Tig does it every time I turn the ignition on in the garage I presume because its sort of darker in there it thinks the headlights should be on.
It doesnt do it if the headlights are on auto as they come on if door is shutLast edited by Guest001; 28-08-2019, 05:16 PM.2021 Kamiq LE 110 , Moon White, BV cameras F & B

That's the reason why I was hoping to disable the message as I don't need the headlights to turn on in the garage when I start the car, only to have it turn off when I drive out into brighter sunlight. The Polo has DRL lights anyway so dipped head lights are not really necessary until the early eveningMY19 Polo GTi 2.0 DSG

This is actually a pain that lasts longer than just exiting the garage ... I have the same on my Golf R.
Essentially the R is VERY sensitive to light and often I am the only car that has its lights on. It often still is an hour to sundown but that very 1st bit of dusk pre sunset triggers the auto lights. I don't need the lights yet, but turning it off "auto" gets me that d@mn annoying message.
I WANT, no NEED to turn it off.Current: 2023 MY23 T-Roc R Lapiz Blue + Beats Audio + Black pack 2018 MY19 Golf R manual Lapiz Blue + DAP) 2018 MY18 Golf 110TSI (150TSI) Trendline manual White2014 Amarok TSI Red (tuned over 200kw + lots of extras) 2013 Up! manual Red 2017 Polo GTI manual Black Previous VWs and some others ...

Probably have a better chance of coding the light sensor to be less sensitive..
If it annoys you but ive always been a have the lights on early type and when im driving I cant see them so dont worry about them
Same with DRL's they are a safety device and also illegal to disable them so why worry driver cant see them2021 Kamiq LE 110 , Moon White, BV cameras F & B
