Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • lemmiwinks for smooth idle

My car has had a stumbly rough idle since day dot and other than increasing the idle rpm by +50rpm in lemmiwinks which helped a little, its still an ongoing niggle. My fuel trims are spot on, plugs are new at 28 thou, no misfires under load so doubtful then at idle.
Two channels in Lemmiwinks seem to maybe offer some love. Apparently channel 13: control bits can be set to 'on' 'on' and also ch14: idle torque can be played with.
I'm not one to just set control bits without being sure that they actually are for idle and I can't imaging idle torque would need tweaking unless maybe you had a lightened flywheel or something.
Has anyone adjusted these with success.
