Hi, I would like to know for future reference if anyone knows whether or not Polo TDI brake discs + pads have a Mk4 Golf substitute? They don't seem to list Polos in any of the brake catalogues i've seen. Not after an upgrade, just a replacement

Try, these part numbers for Green Stuff pads (if thats what you want)
Front DP21329
Rear DP2680

There are 2 entries for TDI from 2002 to present the ones above and another entry for the exact same pads as the GTI, and I assume fit the 96kw TDI they have OS.

Slightly off topic ... I picked up a set of Polo GTI front calipers and rotors that I was thinking about putting on my Polo TDI. I had a chat with a mechanic from the dealer, and of course he said it was a bad idea from a warranty perspective, but he also said it might cause problems with the ABS and that the stock TDI master cylinder might not be able to cope with the larger brakes.

Any opinions?

Well,I've gone the other way and fitted larger brakes to a GTI with the standard master cylinder with no ABS or brake problems.I know of others who have fitted even bigger brakes{R32}and all has been OK.
Best talk to an independent VW workshop without vested "warranty" interests.
I'm sure if I'd asked my dealer he would have poo-pooed the idea.

thanks for the reply! awesome!!!! .... i've been wanting better braking power- almost got written off by an as##ole in a truck the other day that didnt particularly care that i was in my lane- can never be too safe on the roads these days.....
