      • Today I bolted on the turbo with all turbo lines now completed. Moving onto tidying up a few last things in the engine bay before I get the clutch and then gearbox onto the engine and the lot can go back in.

            • Big day on the polo today. Clutch on, gearbox on, new engine mount in, then the whole thing went in. It's very snug and had to come back out twice to make some adjustments to the panel the sits in front of the firewall to clear the turbo and lines.

Now it's mostly a matter of bolting bits back together. The heavy lifting is over hopefully and now but lots of little jobs left to do before it's running but I'm excited to have the engine back in place.

              • With the adjustments you had to make, have you also accounted for engine movement under heavy boost?

                Good milestone

                    Cheers!
Yes, those were the adjustments I made. It fitted before but there wasn't enough clearance under engine movement for my liking, so the engine came out, made some more room then went back in and now I'm happy with the clearances

I'm sure the big engine boys won't see it as funny, but we sure will

                      • Have you put the vibratechnics in just with this engine build or had you already been running them? They are rock solid in my car with a superpro'd dogbone so hopefully you'll be ok with your clearances.

I've only just put them in with this engine and turbo setup. I'll be running the black powerflex race series dogbone mount which is ridiculously stuff so I'm hoping the engine won't rock to much at all

                          • no you wont be able to so much as put one little jiggle into it by hand and it'll buzz the cabin a bit. You'll definitely discover a few extra dash squeaks, but I reckon they are the best mod for making the car feel really properly tied together. You don't have to worry about extra vibes when the A/C kicks in though!
