    How do you fit AWD under the POLo when it has a basic beam axle?
    Unless they decide to fit a complex independent setup for one AWD model then I dont see it happening.

    Unless.... they fit a basic live axle (non-independent) and make a small AWD SUV based on the Polo. That is probably more likely.

    yeah i much prefer the 9N3 over the "new" shape. it's looking very much like a cheap japanese styled car....very much lacks the character of the current shape.

    btw what do you guys think of the next generation polo aestheticaly. I'd go with the 9N3 over it anytime even if it was AWD. I don't know if the renderings are accurate and whether the GTI would look any better (more aggresive)

    ATM the CrossPolo in most world markets run TDI with a raised suspension. No AWD.

    The next gen will have at least 1 AWD model. Might be the GTI, might be the next CrossPolo. Lets hope its both or at least the GTI.

    Will be VW's lightest AWD and probably the quickest ....... (with some tuning help)

    Hmmm. you can get the polo GTI in 4 door, but they arrent longer wheelbase just shorter front door.

    You can buy that polo in the caradvice link in japan.. saw one a couple of weeks ago while i was over there... they are called a Cross Polo and run front wheel drive and non-turbo petrol engine

    thats the Polo Cross (similar setup to the Suzuki SX4, small 4x4), i saw heaps of them when i was in france. i'm pretty sure thats all they would put out in our Polo line here, and i think they are only available in TDI. someone correct me if i'm wrong
