Bec - I wasn't implying anything. I just remember when a sales guy was trying to talk me into buying the new lancer VRX, all he could come up with was automatic headlights and wipers. but the lancer just seemed to boring and serious, where as the polo is fun to drive - especially where I live, I reckon we have some of the best driving roads in Australia down here!

I don't think the salesman is stupid at all,he's just doing his job.He's hardly going to turn around and say Oh yeah the Volkswagen is a better thing go and buy one of those.

I have found salesmen to be extremely ignorant ..... even of their own products let alone other manufacturers'.

I have yet to find 1 that knew all the details of a car I was asking questions on. In fact in doing my research before I showed up at the dealership, I ended up knowing more than the combined salesforce at the dealership.

Also, I have yet to find a salesman that could give decent reasons on why to consider his brand over another. None has a clue as to the strenghts and weakness of each model they are trying to sell.

As a collective they are useless .....

Yeah and everything you read on the internet is serious I was merely pointing out that the mitsu guy was fighting a losing battle.

The sales guy at the dealer I bought from actually had a Polo GTI as a daily driver. Before I left he took me for a spin and he had it APR'd, even gave my a brochure for APR. I'm sure the dealer (or JUST the salesguy) was getting commission from APR
