  • Blow-Off Valve installed !!

    hey all,

i installed my new Turbosmart Kompact Series Dual Port BOV this afternoon. it took about 10 mins to install by myself with no extra bits, but because of the trumpet on one side can no longer put the engine cover back on

i'm really happy with it as my turbo lag is not extended and it sounds great.

SORRY ABOUT THE CRAP QUALITY OF VIDEO, A LOT LOUDER IN THE FLESH....CAN HEAR IT FROM WELL DOWN THE STREET

    and the video:

Why not Just put a CAI kit on?

that makes the Diverter Valves more Audiable and it retains stock operation.

already researched this jimmy, epc light wont come on cos it's dual port and it is pushing sufficient air back through the exhaust port to the TIP. it is interchangeable as well so if there is a problem it has a plug to convert it to full plumbback.

                    Mine eventually came on.

Started to happen when driving along the highway. Consitantly sitting on 100kph. Between brisbane and coast....

Car just dies so to speak... Just clutch in turn car off then on then clutch out. Easy.

EDIT: sucks when it happens at night cause the headlights turn off

Ah dual port that makes sense mate. Do you have some info on that valve???? The reason the lamp comes on is as you probably well know is that there is unmetered air and it overcompensates gassing the o2 sensor. BUt the dual port sound good, still must have an element of unmetered air of course.
Be interested to have a look.
                      Cheers

Is it just me or do BOV's seem to add a 'wank' factor. Or even turn such a nice Euro car like this into a boganesque Jap-like car?

different strokes for different folks... some like noises, some don't

for me, if it benefits my car and adds abit of a flutter - sure, why not.

shows more presence on the road

I got the Turbosmart Kompact Dual Port BOV fitted on my car. Its been 1 month and no idiot light has come up yet. I also have my engine cover fitted.

Turbosmart is an Australian Manufacturer of turbo performance products.

If you get one make sure its the 25mm as this will fit on a Polo. Mine is all black no silver/metal finish on the top of it as it is in the photo.

I personally like the BOV on the car not many people expect it when they hear it coming from a small hatchback Euro car. I always liked the way they sound. Its only associated with ricers because they are the majority of cars with BOV's. But these days even Ford's run around with BOV's (XR6 Turbo, being the most common, in my opinion). With the GTI having such a smooth power delivery you can sometimes forget ur driving a turbo car, till you hear the BOV
