      Ok, i've spent the past couple of days getting a few quotes for a 2009 Polo GTI with metallic paint only @ agreed value of $26990 &;
1 driver of 30 years of age
      Rating 1 for life
Clean record for past 5 years
Car stored in locked up Garage

      Check out the price differences!...

      Suncorp: $1072 with $550 excess.

GIO: $965 with $500 excess (I have my current car & House & Contents with GIO, so their original quote of $1009 dissapointed me! - rang them up & mentioned other quotes so they lowered it to $965...)

      Allianz: $877 with $500 excess.

      Shannons: $638 with $500 excess

So Shannons kick arse for someone like me. Their 3rd party quote was only $209 for a turbo! Pretty impressed.

25kms from Melbourne. I bag out the area more than it deserves, but it has it's fair share of hoonage & criminal activities.

          Who's your insurer, mikepologti?

i cringe when i say aami, but the bizzar thing is , they have looked after me.
besides the biggest defining differance in price , would be the fact that where i live, you can probably leave your car out in the street unlocked for the better half of the week, and it would still be there in the morning.

Where you live is a big factor. When I have moved houses, the premium had decreased by 30% as the area I was moving in was apprarently safer!!

I pay close to $1100 to insure my car with NRMA, under 25, protected maximum NCB, market value (but I get a new car if written off). Just cars was close, and the others were at least $1500.

Yeah I thought the area would've had an impact. Stupid crims.

When shopping for quotes, I was surprised Budget Direct only insured drivers over 35 years of age. Didn't know that. I'd assumed, with all the fliers I get in my mailbox that they'd insure me.

Hey, mike. If I were you, i'd get a quote off Shannons when your insurance is up for renewal. You should get an even cheaper price which may include windscreen protection ect.

Also, Shannons don't charge any extra for monthly payments....they actually work out slightly cheaper (i'm talking cents) after rounding.

Sounds like I work for Shannons doesn't it....hehe
