  • Guys, I have signed up for a Ralliart Colt.

Guess it was right place right time and the price was good. I suprised myself by not even test driving the Polo before I got the RColt.

Hope I have made the right decision.

What did put me off the GTi was the 'problems you've experienced' thread. I know it is only a small number of owners that have had the problems but I am not so keen to have my car in the workshop constantly to get things sorted out - I had experienced that enough with my Renault Sport Clio ... the stories in the thread was purely dejavu.

The GTi/Colt was never going to really be an upgrade from the Clio - driving wise. After a test drive of the RColt, this was confirmed. The Clio is just gives a raw as balls drive and it is just that much better - though a new car with 5/10 yr warranty, turbo and a pair of recaros comes mighty close.

Great site - you guys have been helpful - I will be lurking around.

    Cheers guys.

I wouldn't touch an R-Colt, no matter how well they've been looked after they are still ugly

It is new, so I have nothing to worry about.

Understand that I have come from a Clio - not the best looking car. Gti looks a little funny too, but then, so do all the 'super minis' in this class, in my opinion. Of the VW's, have to say the R32 looks the goods

I hope so too, for your sake. It's just heartbreaking when your car has a problem that can't be diagnosed by the dealer and it takes days for any resolve. Very painful indeed.. All the best mate !

              • You can have the Colt for $17999 + onroads, well under $20000 driveaway brand new at dealers all around Oz.

Why, its all 2006 builds...... Mitsu stopped building them in 2006 and are trying to get rid of the ones on the floor of dealers around the country. The sold so well .... NOT ..... that there are still some around that is actually 2+ years old ... unsold.....new.

                Look at the build plate.....

                • an undriven demo is a car registered by a dealership as a demo to get rebates by mitsubishi, but never actually used as a demo. It was a popular thing in the colt range about 3-4 months ago as mitsu were ponying up $3k+ additional rebates for dealers to do this

                  and yeah, sharkie is right

there are 08 build colt ralliarts, but if i were a dealer, i wouldnt be ordering any

                  • Hey guys I'm new here, just started looking at the Polo GTI this weekend.

Haven't taken it for a drive yet (I've booked in a time next weekend).

What is a realistic drive away price for one with leather and sunroof? No driveaway deals at the moment, judging by this thread I take it they were earlier in the year?

The best offer i had gotten down to with the metalic+leather+sunroof was 30,800 on road. Had a delivery problem which would have left me without a car for another 6 weeks so went for just the leather, ended up being 29,400 on road and honestly now i don't regret not getting the sunroof but the leather is just amazing, takes the car to a whole new level interior wise.

                        welcome,

i paid 30,500 drive away for mine with pearl effect paint (black) and leather. i'm in perth and i think the GTIs here are more expensive than over east because there's high demand and only 2 dealers to supply them. if you're over east you should be able to get a better deal. and yep, the leather looks a million bucks. good luck.

                        • Thanks.

I can do without the sunroof, but I definitely want the leather.

Is 28K do-able or no chance?

                          • Close to doable, but I'd say 29 is more like it.
