GTI polo going for 26,990...How much did you actually paid for yours?

i live at penrith (nsw). the dealer i went to was denlo volkswagen in parramatta, which is about a 30min drive. but i'm open to traveling for a deal

Fresh of the ship,unloaded 29/01/08.

In fact the dealer I bought mine from had a Flash Red with Sunroof in stock build date April 07 and wouldn't even think of doing it at 26990.They said it was far better for them to get me a fresh one off the boat and then get some factory bonuses on that,I would of thought that they would of been keener to get rid of the April built car than a fresh one.But hey what do I know.

both cars they have in stock have the sunroof. i didnt originally think of getting the sunroof (to save $$) but it seems ok if i can get $1000 off. and of course free onroads. (sunroof is $1490)

That will work in your favour. I doubt dealers will be wanting to get more 07 cars in if they can get rid of the ones they have this close to the 08 model coming out.

Hey Grant, don't go to Nepean Motor Group(In Penrith) like I did...They are rip off merchants, and stall to pay money back that they owe to you...I'm still waiting for $2100 that is owed to me for wheels that I didn't get with my car(17 in Exor's)...Dept of fair trading is getting a call this week...Lucky I have the receipts and records of conversation.

p.s. did anyone finance with their dealer? denlo uses GE money and has a rate of about 10%. isnt this a little high? i think my mum pays 7% with toyota and my brother likewise with holden

I'm through the dealer, using GE. Get a quote from a bank (I suggest Westpac) and say 'beat this or I'll go through Westpac'. I did, and got it down a long way.

hey everyone. i've been down to the dealer today.

red gti with sunroof and ipod adaptor $28,000. brand new, built august 2007, 08 complianced

asked if they could make it 27,500. but they said no. i walked away and said i'll think about it. they said they will ring me tomorrow, hopefully with a lower price.

sales lady quoted $28,500 first off. knocked $500 off after i said i didnt really want a sun roof

she also tried to 'throw in' free mats.. until i corrected her since they are standard.

wat to do think i can get the price down to?

So theoretically that should be $29,136. I got em down to $27,600. They pushed the price down heaps on the sunroof model coz they had it in stock.

So your $27,500 goal with NO tint should be attainable (does still depend on the dealer). Also I'm in Vic, not sure if that makes any difference.


EDIT: Also forgot I got mine on finance too. They use Esanda down here. Was around 7.3% rate. Application fee and early payout fee were quite low too (around $350 and $200 respectively)

I'd want a better deal than that.

$500 = definitely BS. $350 is normal. I got mine done elsewhere because of this.

That was me negotiating on one visit. I just went down for a look and a test drive. Ended up buying a car.... whoops lol. Nah was good. Was super happy with how the car drove and the prices they offered so I couldn't really find a reason not to buy it.

she said she will talk to the boss and ring me back.... rang back an hour later and said she can't do it.

what do u guys think? MaximusSmurf got the same deal 200 cheaper
