I naturally expect expensive, but cannot see why warranty would be out the window if it fits - if it's alright for the Flog...

If asked why it's wanted, the simple answer is that it's a better wheel than what the Polo has fitted.

I miss my lovely, chunky MINI wheel and would love one of these.

dodge, the new wheel looks sweet! Sorry for the noob question - can you install that yourself or do you need to get it professionally done for the airbag etc? If so, how much did it cost you?

Just extend the same muscles a little further and you'll find the audio controls you lazy buggers.

Congrats mate - nice mod and done at a good price too! Thumbs up!

                    Hi guys,

Yep 99 euros plus shipping. The seller didn't ship to Oz to I had them ship it to a mate who lives in Berlin and he shipped it to me for 37euro. The cheapest I can see them for now is double that...

I'm sure it's authentic VW, it has the VW logo and serials embossed inside.

It was a perfect, fit.... install was done by a mate. All you need is a screw driver, and a hex (??) bit.
You turn the wheel 90 degrees to the left and you can get in the back with the screw driver to unclick the horn/airbag... then 90 the other way and do the same. The horn/airbag will then come out a bit and you'll be able to unclip the electrics.
Then use the hex (??) bit to remove the wheel. 15mins max.

                              Goodness gracious!

Out of interest I just rang a local VW parts place.

Rough quote of $1300 () and yes, that's just the outer!

They also confused the matter by saying there are different models - despite my making it clear it was the GTI steering wheel, which AFAIK only comes in the one colour.

I'm sure there are people here much more savvy in finding parts at sane prices - anybody care to have a try?

                              Cheers!

                                30th Ed

You need to get the 30th Edition I believe which has the red thread.
