No confirmation, a bunch of speculation, same place we were 6 months ago.
I don't see it happening. If it does not have AWD, then it would be different from all the other R's. If its going to have a decent spec above the GTI, it will be around 40k here, for that money, people will likely go for the Golf.
Don't think I'd go for a new Polo and definitely not if its going to be DSG only. -

Mmm a little disappointed by my potential upgrade car.. learning that it won't be AWD is a big downer. I like it having the Mk6 2.0L but hell I can just stroke out the 1.8... don't like the new Mk7 either. Looks like ill be keeping the Polo for some time!Comment

unlikely i reckon2016 MY17 Polo GTI with DA package. TMD fitted + Weather strip and Snow Screen removed otherwise dead standard.
