No confirmation, a bunch of speculation, same place we were 6 months ago.

I don't see it happening. If it does not have AWD, then it would be different from all the other R's. If its going to have a decent spec above the GTI, it will be around 40k here, for that money, people will likely go for the Golf.

Don't think I'd go for a new Polo and definitely not if its going to be DSG only.

        Scirocco R is fwd only.

I could see this being offered manual only because the weight penalty of the DQ250 dsg (6 speed wet clutch) would be too great and they can't offer the DQ200 because that will supposedly implode if you put 1Nm more than 250Nm through it.

If they build it and the bigger if of if they build it RHD.

Mmm a little disappointed by my potential upgrade car.. learning that it won't be AWD is a big downer. I like it having the Mk6 2.0L but hell I can just stroke out the 1.8... don't like the new Mk7 either. Looks like ill be keeping the Polo for some time!

I had no idea... How odd. So I guess the Golf R is more common for a reason.

If it comes here, think it will be less than 40k?

Well my info is that out of the 2500 being built, exactly 0 of them will be RHD anyway so not much point worrying about it
