I have heard that raised before but I can't quite work out how it could be an issue. The EGR return (to inlet) is located after the throttle body and there is still a partial vacuum to the engine there when the BOV opens on throttle closing. So I'm not sure how the exhaust gas could avoid being sucked in the to the engine whilst slipping past the closed/closing throttle.Golf Mk7.5 R, Volvo S60 Polestar, Skyline R32GTST

From the Wikipedia article under the operation section...

What did I do to my polo today
Saw the passenger side mirror start to wobble
Oh I've see what you're doing there mr mirror
Pull over, rip mirror off. Will glue back on

Interestingly, this is a replacement mirror that I picked up secondhand. When I was installing it I deliberately left the heater wires unplugged. Still didn't save it. VW glue is ****.08 9n3 Polo GTI

It used to be with APR that once you had paid for stage 1 with them, that later on when you sorted stg 2 hardware like dump pipe etc, that for another small fee they would remove the exhaust CEL. Maybe check that that system is still in place so you don't have to cough up all over again when you go stg 2.

I'll certainly ask that question as my end goal is stage 3 with a K04 turbo.Originally posted by sambb View PostIt used to be with APR that once you had paid for stage 1 with them, that later on when you sorted stg 2 hardware like dump pipe etc, that for another small fee they would remove the exhaust CEL. Why wait?Originally posted by MattSA9N3 View PostI'll certainly ask that question as my end goal is stage 3 with a K04 turbo.

Stg 1 is a vast improvement. Stg 2 is nice too. Stg 3 (k04)...for the effort and cost it's perhaps not quite as exciting.Track Car: 06 Polo GTI Red Devil mkII

I'm going stg 1 on the 24th of next month and stg 2 a couple of months after that. After that I'm doing leather interior (maybe Recaro's), audio and then I'll be saving for stg 3. So stg 3 is a fair way down the track.Originally posted by seangti View PostWhy wait?

I'm waiting impatiently for Pumaspeed to send me the Milltek centre section I ordered 10 days ago (awaiting parts apparently) so I can pair it up with the catless Milltek DP that's sitting in my shed and get them on the car - desperately looking forward to Gavin's stage 2. The stage 1 is certainly a vast improvement, but I miss the extra kick and minimal lag my old POG had on stage 2.

Meanwhile, just ordered the right hand mirror glass from a UK eBay seller. The old one fell out and connected with the road the other day. About a month ago I was lucky enough to catch the left hand one before that hit the road...WTF! The local glass shop glued that one back in, so we'll see how long it lasts.

Should last ages if you use a good glue.
I repaired one with araldite years ago, heaps more than the glue VW used, it'll out live the car now.
Also unplugged the heater element as well as that's probably a contributing factor. Consider doing it if you pull the mirror caps off, it's straightforward.08 9n3 Polo GTI
