Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    • Errr... No. 3 ohm resistor wire makes the ECU think the airbags are still there.

I'll put my S3 brakes on this weekend and i'll be chuffed!

      • They look really good. Have you looked at getting the rear seats re-trimmed to match? That said I think I remember you saying you were doing it for the sake of your back..

            • Put on the badges I'd bought a couple of weeks ago. Just for something a little different.

Good luck with the Child Seats. They aren't (and wont be) approved in Aus due to the way they are tested. Here we test on 'G' forces against the child. Not in any way the protection given. Another monumental c*** up brought to you by your Aus Government.

As for office chairs, oh god yes. Been there, had that. Gimme gimme gimme. Not at my new job though

Spoke to my insurer, Shannons today. More than happy with the seats and brake upgrade.

As for cost, I found out today that he stuffed up and sold them to me well below what they cost him.

Not gonna trim the rear seats. When (and if) i sell the car, the original seats will go back in. You buy Recaros for life!

                • Finally got my Forge TIP installed. What a nightmare. Mixed feelings about the performance boost at the moment. The most subtle of all the mods I've done so far.

Where you'll notice a change is at the top end of the rev range ... should help with breathing over 5,500 revs.

Yeah it has actually although I must admit the huge improvement in that department came from putting in a K&N airfilter not the TIP. It has however 'enhanced' it a bit more. It also seems to have overall smoothed out the power curve & you don't get such a jolt when the turbo kicks in. Well thats how it seems anyway.

Nothing mate. I'm using my silver rims and don't plan using the semi's or black rims again.
