Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

The extra poke and tread width, as well as tyres would make quite a difference...

Do you notice any difference in the ride feel (suspension working over bumps and uneven ground)?

Please enlighten us with what your next wheels will be...

    • Hopefully of the lightweight/BBS kind...but I'll be getting the tune done in a few weeks hopefully so the wheels will be sometime after that.

The ride quality is a bit harsher over road imperfections but that's to be expected when running 40 profile tyres and heavier wheels (I'm still on the stock springs and shocks though).

I found that you do get a sharper and quicker turn-in especially with the RSB and the car holds it's line without washing into understeer compared with the contis.

Which chip are you going for?

I noticed in your sig, you have a Forge front sway? Is this the Front strut brace?

        • Yeah it's a front strut, maybe I should make it more clear lol

Regarding the chip I'm not too sure yet, leaning towards APR just due to the fact it's the one most people have but I'll go trial them all and see what's what.

At the front it is all the way down, bar 2 threads
really hard to drive with it that low, only due to the cupra lip

Back is all the way down, looked quite high, seems to be settling down tho, if not i will take the perches out

                        • Looks great mate...

The front can ride that low, but needs a lot of caution with the lip on.

Did you fold the wheel arch lining back? Different suspension, but I don't have the adjuster in at the back, just the spring seat.

                          • No the left front rubs, been told there is a tab I can fold back to fix it

Still hasnt made any mark in the tyre, so not really fussed, will have a look when I have time

Oh no point as I am going to lift the front up, as it is going to Volkspower on Wed, will be easier to get up thier driveway if it is higher

                              • I'd fold back the tabs regardless. As you are on the stock wheels, it may not be as much of an issue. When I get the new Audi TT wheels on (32 offset, 7.5 wide) I think I'm going to have issues...

Would love to get really wide tyres, but don't think I'll be able to go any wider than 205...

Maybe I should roll my arches and shoot for 225...
