Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Given the number of white GTI's out there now (and for the record one of my favourite colours), I'd go for the black. There are very few of them out there and black is always good for re-sale value.

    edit: there aren't enough white Mk4 GTI's - Snowy's the man!

Due to the fact I'm in QLD and you can hardly wash cars, i'd vote white (well red if on list)

If you go black you have to love to wash your car. When you polish it every single swirl will show. After having a black golf the white is heaps easyer to keep looking tidy and clean.

If you use microfibre pads you won't get swirl marks.

Get a silver one instead. It shows off the wheels and all the black bits to great effect. It is cooler than the darker colours and looks clean for longer. Also resale is greater at the end and seems to be more rare on the roads. Less overtly sporty and with mods more of a "sleeper"......
