Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • test drive: check.

so, i took the GTI for a test drive today and it felt very right. surprisingly easy and comfortable to drive, great acceleration and great steering. the ambience with the blue and red interior lighting is great too, and i love hearing the turbo spool up. what a little rocket

i'll be ordering one (with leather) on monday. the only thing left to decide on is the colour; either black or white. i could pick up the black by friday, but there's 5-6 weeks waiting for the white.

fun fact: also need to arrange a first date with a girl i recently met, and my current car is a '89 Ford with faded paint and crap CV joints. it seems that the universe wants me to pick the black.

            white for me!

If she tosses you because you have 89 Ford, she ain't worth it!

exactly my thoughts Kiwi, but she doesn't seem to be that kind of girl. however, rocking up in my GTI certainly won't hurt either

Vanilla5, which dealer did you get yours from? have you been happy with their level of customer service?

Nah, white is very Toyota Camryish (no offence to current white GTI owners ) - if you can't get red or blue get the black.

I have a white Golf GTI. U should get black

There is something about white euro cars that looks hot. I think cos up until recently they were relatively rare.

And why are you buying a Polo GTI over a solid 24K gold Lambo?

Isn't every single living soul in W.A a multi-trillionaire with at least one mine in their back yard?

black has the classy look. white looks JDM-ish

Both looks nice, i am sure you'll love either car....

Although having a black(now dented for abit) GTI... it's a biatch to keep it clean.....

After owning a white one for more than a year, i feel like a change so i say go black! i saw one the other day and was commenting how nice it looks on the polo, highlights the stock wheels nicely.

Howver, if i had to do it over again, i want blue.

you must be thinking of all the cashed-up rednecks who work in the mines up north. everyone else has to settle for the GTI.

                              resale value

Apparently for resale values you should go black or silver....but then again you are the one who is driving it. Get what you prefer and wait if you have to.
