I got tired of my custom Pod filter setup sucking hot air after 30mins in traffic and decided to replace with the Seat Air Intake.

After trying many positions and forms of heat shielding the pod always got hot after about 30mins. Glorious intake sound about dramatic (and very noticable) loss in performance when hot.

So... I brought in a few intakes and have extras for sale see the parts sales pages. Current price for one from the UK is $230.

These are a great mod ... and relatively cheap. May not directly affect your HP / Kw figures ... but sure helps the engine breathe easier.

Apparently Rocket Industries have decided not to import K&N air filters for the Polo GTi (K&N 33-2830) into Australia due to insufficient demand. I contacted them this morning and if you insist on 1 they will bring in 1 at a price of about $250 each.

So I found a seller in the US that will send me 3 (all he has). I will use 1 and the other 2 will be available here in about 2 weeks time. Pricing will be about $120 each including shipping. Let me know if you want 1.

it's not hard to do urself man - remove the airbox lid by removing the 2 screws, take out the old filter and slot in the new one

i have just put a bmc air filter panel in last week. couldn't find the part number for k & n but it is too late now anyway. i paid $144 including freight. easty to install, i did it myself.

the seat intake loves totally stealth, love it. i might try removing the flap.

The shipping cost confirmation came in overnight from the US. My credit card says AU$93.78 landed each. So I will have 1 to sell somewhere between the 17th and the 21st at $100 including shipping.

Even with shipping the US seems to be cheaper than anywhere else.... Stock is limited (as in on hand stock) but most dealers can source more if required. Some though have issues shipping outside the US and I tried about 4 before finding dealer that was willing to ship to Australia and at a good price.

Might be an old wives tale, but I thought you were always flirting with danger when using oiled filters in cars equipped with MAF sensors (like our VWs are). I'm willing to be corrected on this.
