Got a few little updates already -
some FK coils might be on in time for Dub-stitute on Jan 29!
As well as another aesthetic mod which is not to everyone's taste but I've gone with it!
Having some issues with the roof lining retrim, nothing technical just locating the fabric is proving quite difficult as what I want is pretty exclusive so I need somone to custom weave it!!!!
No BBS centre caps as previously mentioned.
Still trying to find the right Shark Fin to order - anyone who can help with this is a legend

That's all for now, but there will be some more pics coming when parts arrive etc.

Hey guys - little update, I've decided to go with springs, mainly for price and ride quality over cheaper coils. I'm really not that bothered about height and I think any lower than 20-30mm drop will be too uncomfortable on rural roads.

So I'm looking at the orange tuning site for some H&R's and apparently I need to know my front axle weight and whether it's above or below 930kg - can anyone let me know what it is? Hoping they should be here soon and they'll be fitted before Dubstitute!

With springs alone and STD struts, your ride quality will deteriorate. The car floats and porposes over bumps, cos it's under damped. Will be worth bearing in mind as you'll likely not like it if you're driving on country roads and changing struts will be needed. I started with just the h&R's and didn't like it. As for your question re the weight, I'm not sure as another forum member did the purchase, i'll have a look in the morning to see if theres any codes on the springs.

I TOTALLY agree with seangti's comments about lowering spring kits but I'm no fan of cheap coilovers, either. I'd stay stock if those were the only options.

The GTi engine is heavy - it needs the >930kg front suspension option just like the 1.9 TDi

Cheers for replies about the springs, I've taken your advice kaanage and the car will remain stock for Dubstitute but I will be finding something shortly after that is more suited to my needs. Right now I don't have time to get a set sent over and fitted, so I'm going to carry on looking!

I've been having a bit more of a think about what I want to achieve personally for 2012 and I want to save a lot of money, but at the same time transform my car into what I want it to be - it's quite contradictive but it means I have to budget and set myself a list of parts/modifications and stick to it - no more spending!

Here is an update of modifications that WILL happen this year:
                        Custom Code
                        Uprated Clutch/Flywheel
Milltek Cat Back exhaust or custom downpipe
*POSSIBLE* Seat Sport Intercooler w/ Forge piping
Suspension upgrade (still deciding which route to take)
One of those Forge Diverter valve things!

And there will be SIGNIFICANT aesthetic changes and I'm going to be annoyingly secretive about these, but I'm planning a bit of smoothing, the addition and modification of existing body parts. What's in my head is going to be epic, and I don't want to ruin it by typing it out and hoping others will interpret it the same way - so you'll just have to wait and see

look at the Forge DV thread here in the 9N3 polo section. Try Audi TT Stuff-Audi TT Performance Parts and Audi TT Accessories too as I picked up a Forge DV 008 from this site for only $160ish with free shipping. It was a slight pain as I couldn't track it once it left the US, but I got it in about 3 weeks Seems to be the cheapest option at the moment

If you haven't got one already consider a SEAT PD160 intake upgrade. Great mod and I see there is two for sale in the Parts for sale section for around $100. Much cheaper than when I got mine and their not that easy to find these days too.

Yeah it was the first mod I did, it was in my bag of goodies I bought from SEAT when I was visiting the UK, got the Cupra bushes too Think I paid about $100 new because I brought it back in my suitcase, prices have gone up over there though, they were about $70 a few years back.

If only it was just one thing I was changing - there's quite a few! And no plans to modifiy the guards as off yet

I've been looking into Weitec coilovers - they seem like a nice gap between FK's and KW's and was wondering if anyone had experience with them - I am really more after ride quality over 'stance' at this stage but I might have to invest in these.
