  • NP's Candy White GTI Build Thread

I think it's time to formally introduce myself and my baby - my 2006 Candy White Polo GTI.

Sadly, we first met on bad terms after she was sold to without it being disclosed that she had been injured in one of melbourne's hail storms, even after taking the seller to court and losing my case it's hard to stay mad at her! So I'm on a mission really to get all of the hail out give the old girl the life she deserves...so here we go!

Set of fully refurbed and powder-coated BBS RS771's (16x6.5 5x100 ET42) imported from europe, I don't think there are any in Aus yet, maybe one or two but yeah, they're pretty rare. And they'll look like this when I get round to fitting them...

    A few other goodies:

Things to do before SEDF (or whatever happens next!):
    Retrimmed roof lining.
    Sharkfin antenna.
    BBS Centre caps
    Honeycombe Grilles
and a few other small mods.

    And thereafter there will be:
    Custom Code
    Uprated clutch and LWFW
    Some form of lower suspension
and a few other things haha.

              Looking the goods NP.

I agree with Smead though, keep the vw centrecaps in, they suit it for some reason.

                Ha Ha,

As for suspension have a look at Performance 3000 on ebay UK

I got a set of FK AK Coilovers landed for $430 and they're wotrking a treat

Done 10,000 kms so far and (touch wood) they have had no problems

                  Cheers man.

Well I guess that saves me a little bit more money to put towards other bits and bobs haha.

And Smead - yeah I wasn't sure what to do about suspension, was going to go with KW but I think it's a bit overkill, then saw you can get H+R 35mm springs for about $225 so was thinking about those. I actually wish I'd taken those eibachs off you a couple of months back, but I genuinely had no idea what was happening with the car with the court case etc.

                    Nice

Those wheels look sweet, I want a set lol

I would say with a set of those wheels you will want the car to have a good stance

                    Go Coilovers for sure
                    MODS- TOO MANY

I ran those Eibach springs for ages with no probs All good anyway

It all comes down to what you want and what you want to spend

Springs are good but not adjustable. If your not fussed on adjustability go springs for sure.

If you want to track it get good coilovers (KW, Weitec etc.)

If you want to dump it, can put up with a bit of a bumpy ride go JOM or FK AK's They are good for the price

Yeah it's a tough one cause I think the stock ride is already pretty harsh, I live out in the bush so some of the roads you have to drive are pretty terrible and that's why I was thinking of KW's. I've never been one for lowering a car but I know if I don't I'll get so much hassle for it - might pick up those eibachs, had a set on my last car and that wasn't as harsh as the pog and that was driving the UK's awful roads!

oh and cheers everyone for the thumbs up over the wheels, just added more details about them to the OP.

                              Hey Flyin GTI

                              Performance 3000, UK ebay

I emailed first then phoned them.

had them in a week. Blitzen runs the same setup

@NP, yeah the ride was smoother than the FK's, though higher
