The result? NRMA Fully Comprehensive, for a little over $900. Your premium will be affected by where you live, and whether the car is garaged - as well as your driving record (or lack of one if you've been hiding as an "occasional driver" on a policy until now). That $1800 bill is certainly scary! That's almost as bad as a WRX premium, and they're about as notorious as they come.
There's one caveat on this, I just realised a few days ago...Driver Training courses (not performance ones, just the standard Finlays/Murcotts etc courses) aren't covered by the NRMA comprehensive policy. I'll ring again to make sure, since the lady behind the counter wasn't 100% sure, but it doesn't look that way.
