Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I agree with you, look at any insurance policy and there will be a out clause for the insurer if you fail to disclose anything that may affect their risk. ALL insurance companies look for reasons not to pay rather than reasons to pay. They don't exist to look after their policy holders, they exist to look after their shareholders.

These are legitimate points - however each owner/driver/policy holder would determine for themselves the level of risk they're prepared to live with. So for instance if someone wants zero exposure to risk (as outlined above) and they want mods, then they'll need authorisation from their insurer. Depending on the outcome, a decision is made to either proceed or not proceed with the mod (if not approved) or seek an insurer who will accept the mod.

My point is that we can exercise choice - so if an insurer doesn't meet your needs, find one who will.

            Thx Tim

Is that a support bracket in the middle? Also, yours is 3" right, what size is the standard dp?

Sorry it's a crappy pic. The standard dump is 2.25"; with the bends, it is less than that, of course.

Kai, sorry mate...I'll need to get it up on a hoist and I won't get a chance today. There's nothing too complex in the job for a good 'zorst shop. They simply cut and reuse the ball joint at the turbo, a mid flex joint as per the stock pipe, and cut into the cat so that the 3" pipe welds in smoothly. Oh, and retain the sensors. Tim

                      hi guys,

im sorry if im bringing to life an old thread again, but im interested to know- seeing as im not made of money, and $300 on a DP sounds like a very good-value-for-money mod, does anyone know if the same can be done to the exhaust system on a polo tdi- just the dp?

im a proponent of the good ole "take care of the pennies and the pounds will take care of themselves", and this sounds like something i'd be interested in....

any replies would be great. cheers.

If you're in Melbourne, the best place to do it is "The Muffler Man" at Prahran, ask for Trev (03 9522 2803) - he did mine.

the polos have perfect exhausts. they lost power with an different exhaust on them. do other stuff before you start messing with the exhaust
