Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Yeah apr would likely be your best bet, to make it worth the while for me to try and do another group buy i would need at least 10 people and even then i would have to see what prices i can get for them.

Sorry to drag up an old thread but how many people actually cut out the flap when installing the new seat intake? Is it worth it?

Just put it in... damn it's a tight squeeze to get the seat one in.
Decided not to cut it up, can you get that part from anywhere?
Would like to buy a spare and cut that up and swap it out with the original.

Didn't really notice a difference except for extra noise to tell you the truth.... can't making it worse so still happy to have it.

You can buy that part over the counter from a VW service center. I cut it out months ago before I got my SEAT intake. It was no biggy, I just used a Dremel and some sand paper....Easy as you like.

yeah I figured it would be easy, but rather do it knowing a have a spare.
Will try get one during next week as i doubt any of the service centres will be open on a saturday.
