Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

How much will you be selling the full forge intakes for?

I wouldnt mind getting one as soon as they are avaliable.

Yesterday I had the full forge intake, R1 diverter valve and the larger SEAT air intake installed at Volkspower in Melb. Hard to tell how much of a difference it has made but it definitely feels like it revs harder and easier.

Reason I ask, spoke to a guy yesterday who had the BMC CDA fitted, he said he noticed a BIG difference in the 5000 to 7000 rev range which is where mine does flatten off a bit and does feel a bit strangled. A lift in that range would be useful for track days, and I figured it might be due to a restrictive inlet, and since mines chipped, it may need more air over 5000.
So I had a look at the inlet today. The airbox itself looks ok, would just act as a still-air-box, but the grill in the outlet of the box, and the inlet above the radiator would seem to be the main restictions, and they're the main areas a CDA would fix as far as I can see. And seeing as the CDA is around $1200 to $1500, which I dont have at the moment, the stuff you have for around $160 would seem like a good deal!

The SEAT Intake keeps the stock look of the car and engine too.

                      Seat intake

If you were going to do the whole intake change you would be absolutely mad to spend 1200-1500 on a device to filter air.

If you HAD to do it, you would surely buy a K&N apollo. google it

But in my personal opinion, why ruin a nice looking engine bay with 'out of place' dodgey looking intake bits.

Just buy a BMC panel filter and a forge Turbo inlet pipe and seat cupra intake from Guy Harding and also a new diverter valve.

This is what i have done, at first it didnt make much of a difference apart from making the turbocharger more audible. But over a few days of driving it seems to pick up a bit harder and rev a little bit more freely.

I can imagine it would make a more noticeable difference on a car which has been flash tuned.

either speak to Shaneth from Eurokraft or Tim from www.dubaddiction.com.au. go to the 'business home pages' section for their details. they both have them in stock for the same price.

                          Cheers,
