The Modeo ones are not really any better. I have a set of the OEM and Mondeo ones at home, unused (not on the vehicle) if anyone wants them.

Hi Kev,
I'm running coilovers with a similar mounting point to stock, so no issues with mine. I did try the Modeo ones, but they are not really any better.
There was a shorter alternative that would suit short springs, Hot Tuning do some, here is a link to some... ebay droplinks
The UK guys are using VMaxx, have not come across them here...
Its all a bit of trial and error unfortunately, I've got a set of the Mondeo ones lying around if you want to try, but not much shorter.

i found the vmaxx one on the UK sites, but the shipping was over 100P. i haven't contacted Hot Tuning about shipping yet, i guess i will wait till after i get the bilstein shocks.

since having the bilsteins put in and going back to the standard links, I don't get the knocking any more. Not sure why this has stopped but I'm happy that it has.
Oh, and the bilstein/H&R combo at queensland raceway (sprint circuit) is at least 2.1secs a lap quick than H&R's with stock struts. Unfortunately I only got one full session on the sprint track as the final session I overheated and subsequently ruined a tyre as the inner belt let go and tread blocks moved, the tyre is a bit oval shaped and tread block U shaped... But regardless, it was happy lapping 2 secs quicker when driven just within the limit and a lot more fun.Track Car: 06 Polo GTI Red Devil mkII
