i also want harder springs that are not lowered... can i find something like that? Also, wud harder non lowering springs suit the stock VWpolo shocks or do i need to go for a full coilover setup.

my aim for the rest of year is to replace gearbox and then just spent money on handlin. the car just feels really soft.
Welcome to K-MAC, Camber Kits, Caster Kits, Springs, Swaybars.

Kmac can make you custom springs at any rating you want, not sure how they will effect the shocks someone with properly knowledge will have to pipe up there

Kings springs can also be custom made to my understanding.

had a quote from wholesalessuspension in blacktown

an EiBach Pro Kit is 960 dollars installed.

it has a 30mm drop. Would that cause any major issues with the wheels and the mudguards?

anyone here run stock shocks and this eibach pro kit? Do you have issues turning the car, like wheels hitting the mudguards?

30mm drop will not cause you any issues at all, on standard wheels or anything up to a 8" wide with an offset higher than 25+. wheels 16"-17"

running a 70mm drop and without the spacers on the back I have no issues so you won't

only way you might have issues if you run a tyre wider than 215 or 18" with 50 profiles.

I really want to go lower.... All i adjustment I have is to wind the fronts down without the helpers and take ther rear perches out.

does anyone know of some Coilovers that go to a 4" drop???!?!?!?

none made for our car, we get pissy drops from most major brands, is the only big brand name I know with anything over 40mm (they say 65mm drop) is Eibach, Hottunning and APs go lower than that.

I asked for more quotes whilst sitting at work. The below are quotes for supply and installs

                KMAC
                20-30mm Springs $440+240 = $660
                Rear Sway bar $295+88 = $383

                Wholesalessuspension
                Eibach Kit Springs = $960

                Pedders
                Rear Sway bar = $425

KMAC sounds like the way to go ^^

I'd get H&R springs direct from UK. I don't know anyone who has had issues wit them and they give a good ride (its then the Shocks which are the limitation).

so any brand 30mm drop springs on those VW stock shocks isnt such a good idea?

Some people have been running the H&R springs with stock shocks for quite some time and are happy with the combination.

Personally, the Shocks made the ride a little crashy over bad roads (very bad roads) and the car didn't stop oscillating when it should.

Still, for the price, much better than stock.

And this is where it's personal preference. I don't think it is better, around town is fine. Highway speeds it's not composed.

Would anyone know the difference between Bilstein B8+HR combo vs Bilstein B12?

From what I've read the B12 have the B8 Monotubes but with the Bilstein Springs. Mixed reviews on what's better etc and I hear the B12s have same lowering at the front but a 25mm lowering at the back?

Does anyone have the B12 installed and if so, reviews please? (i.e track, street etc)

                          Many thanks.

For me I really want best comfort at H&R height... Koni adjustables at softest setting - best setup??
                            06 Polo GTI - REVO Stage 2 = 140kw @ wheels.
06 Golf GTI - Bluefin Stage 1 blacked out with ED30 theme, leather, xenon, etc.

I have this combo and when I had the 215/40's on th 17x7" rims to take some of the impact caused by crap road surfaces, I can say on the softest setting it's like stock. I lost some comfort when I got the 17x8" rims which stretched the rubber and therefore lost me some sidewall height.

You wont be dissappointed with this combo
