I apologise if this has allready been covered, but the SEAT intakes that are popular are becomming harder to source, so Im wandering what other options there are for cold air intakes or something similar to the SEAT intake? Is there a good shop in southwest sydney or canberra to talk to?
On another note is there a decent paint shop in south west sydney to do the V on the bonnet? I want to get mine redone

I don't know if the Seat intakes are still available through dubbadiction, otherwise GTI Dave used to arrange group buys.

Alternative is pod filter setup, technically illegal in NSW i think.

Its only illegal if you get caught

Pod filters are only illegal if they are not securely mounted.

The K&N Apollo is the Pod of choice, as it's fully shielded and includes an intake pipe that allows you to shield it from the heat of the engine bay.

Just hope I've made a good contribution to a few smiles on the faces of fellow enthusiasts and thanking you all again.

If you are in the manufacturing mood, I think the inlet for the Seat one is too far back from the grille and not big enough for a ram style intake.

Unfortunately, to make space for a ram style system, some alterations to the bumper area need to be made which requires removal of the front bumper.

                        Pain...

please not again , i had to change the radiator which took 3 minutes , getting the front on and off 3 hours....

I don't think something like the MkV/VI item pictured below would require bumper removal... I am trying to get the solidworks model done atm, but believe there is enough space in the polo engine bay to fit something similar.

Then all we need to do is talk to some in CF manfufacturing who may be able to assist in lay-up after I have had time to make a mould.

Failing that, we could just do it out of fibreglass

i don't think that would be any better... still too much customisation required.

maybe a cone filter where the current intake starts is the easiest way.
