Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Looks lower than H&R springs, infact its not far off what my Coilovers achieve in terms of looks.

I'd be interested to see how it goes with that setup, not going to go back now, but how bad can it be?

Hey guys, we all like to take the pi55 out of Petrina and enjoy his threads, but if the car was checked out thoroughly when it was sold (by the new owner and a mechanic), any further banter about him selling a dud car or doing poor performance mods is totally irrelevent and misdirected. If he says he assumed the suspension was stock, than we must take him at his word. The numerous threads about how bad it handled would support his lack of awareness of the cut springs and support that it was done prior to his ownership.

In this case, I think we need to cut the bloke a break.

Like Petrina I'm an ex Polo GTI owner as well and like Petrina I miss the little bugger ......

Would I buy another .... no, it has too many limitations that are too expensive to overcome ....

Do I agree with all of Petrina's comments and ideas over time .... no

          BUT ...

Lay off him .... stupidity (and some his comments and ideas over time certainly was stupid) is not a crime and there is no evidence here that he did the wrong thing in any of his dealings.

Some of the comments posted here is indicative of why the Polo section has a bad name amongst the other sections of this forum. Some members here really need to grow up a bit ......

Maybe it was driven on the track in Spain and ruined the springs?

i agree with both sean and sharkie , fun is fun but this thread is going nowhere fast. it is no longer a thread based on how someone has missed there polo but a thread based on how best to take the pi$$ out of someone, something this forum (as far as i know) tries to avoid regardless of weather the person or persons involved deserved it or not. seriously guys this isn't vortex, lets not turn the polo section into something that resembles it.

Look I hold no grudges against anyone. I dont mind the banter but its obvious by some of the responces that people just wanna sling ****..

Someone go into bunnings and buy this industrial air tap..

Ask Troy if he got a good car forthe money he paid, he got a 07 Polo Gti with leather and a good $5k of aftermarket mods, 20,000km for a good price.

I agree he should consult the brainstrust for any issues he has but that Polo Gti would be the best one on here.

Just came home and saw the last 2 pages

I never siad who cut the springs, I said the car has cut springs which it does, so that is the truth

As you can see in the pics the car is at the same height as when I got it, and I have pics of it with the standard wheels on it before you sold it to me if you want proof

When I said I am sorting out a few bugs, i could have used the words "sorting out a few issues", meaning, removing the "bunnings tap" as everyone calls it and getting the boost back to a stable level

I am suprised that when you had it serviced they didnt say anything about the springs, when I took it to have the exhaust looked at, the rear springs almost fell out when they lifted the car up

The guy who inspected the car didnt pick up on the "bunnings tap" so he might not have jacked up the car high enough to see if the springs fall out

This thread is out of control , shame as i would like to comment on the inspections carried out by certain companies, they have no idea, and it was an opening to do so a few posts back but not now.
Anyway as its gone too far here i wont go there. As for the Petrina, mate what i was gong to say about the inspectors was a general comment and im sure you will know that, its not in any way directed at you and your car. I think the parties involved should sort things out in private and not all over the net in full view, its getting messy people

I think that is enough. I appreciate a good public airing of laundry as much as the next, but in reality it does not benefit anyone.

FWIW: I am in exactly the same space with a car that I have just bought, however the reality is that I accept what it is, and you make good of what you have once you have once you have bought it.

If you gentleman want to continue to sling pointed comments at each other, use flashchat, pm's or a telephone. There is simply no place for it here.
