Just thinking that cam belt looks in good nick. I will bid up $5.50!
I don't want it that much Al all yours.
A small progress report from this arvo.
After a quick 10km yesterday once the whole thing was back together. I got a base tune from the lads in the UK.
So I got in from work this arvo and got back into it again.
First job was to swap out the 4 BAR FPR, that had been running in there for a while. Second, the 500cc injectors. The old ones came out easy, the new ones not so good on the way back in.
Anthony had some fuel rail spacers from when he was going to use the 440 injectors. As luck would have it I found them in the parts box, on the second look!
Ran out of luck straight away though, the spacers were too big.
Removed spacer caps off the injectors. Injectors not long enough.......... Come on universe, deal me a better hand.
Caps refitted, after a bit of measuring I decided that some 13mm nuts would fit under the rail nicely. They were just right. Then the chuffing standard bolts were too short and the spacer bolts bottomed out. FML
So another pair of 13mm nuts, stainless and shiny I might add and we were all sorted!!
Next job, 3 inch MAF housing. I had already test fitted it and opened up the mouth of the home made TIP. The Modshack CAI went on the other side with minimum fuss too.
Last but not least, flashing the ECU. As the Devil has a tiny battery, I clipped on a bigger one with some jump leads, then loaded the tune. Started first flick of the key and settled into a nice steady idle.
One fault in VCDS, I forgot to reconnect the inlet temp probe. DOH!
Another couple of quick laps of the local estate and back in time for tea and a DSG flash on a diesel Jetta.

Logging will happen tomorrow.
I'm sure your day must have more hours in it than mine. That sounds like a days work.

Ok went for a spin with just the base file loaded and well it's totally brilliant, thanks Gav
Still comes on hard around 2000rpm like before but not quite as much as torque kick. Power delivery is so smooth now but mid and top range are crazy where the standard K03s dies in the ass, the hybrid just climbs in anger and doesn't run out of puff. I didn't even feel confident revving it over 5K on the street because it's pretty wild.
Turbo whistle is awesome when it comes on, so very loud The entire package seems to be all working so well together and Gav's done a brilliant job with everything!
More logging to come so the tune can be finalised then it's off to the dyno.

This is probably a question more directed towards Gav, but will this 'bonkers 2.0' tune be available to others should we decide to follow the same route?

Yes mate, this level of tune falls under the Custom Code phase 3 heading but the base tune is individually written for each set up.

Awesome, to save you the trouble of repeating yourself, and because I'm essentially doing sweet FA at work because I resigned last week, I'm gonna spend the next hour re-reading the thread to get an idea of your mod list again
Ha ha sweet! Most of the goodies are listed on the first page up until new turbo
What did you have in mind for your little stella ride?
At the moment I want to iron out my curve. There's something awry with my boost I'm thinking, it tends to come on quite hard and quite late (it could be the extra lag from installing the Forge cooler, but I'm not 100% sure). If it weren't for this greasy weather down here at the moment, and my lack of time available, I'd fiddle with my DV but I don't think that's going to solve it.
Because I've done the DP, FMIC, DV, light intake mods (PD160+cone in a box) I'm thinking the next step will be TIP and throttle body piping. Bigger turbo is the ideal mod but I don't want to go to the trouble without the appropriate tune.
